Coconut Garden is nestled in acres of coconut groves near the center of Gili Trawangan island. It is an ideal hideaway for those looking for a more tranquil and private holiday……
The resort is removed from the hustle and bustle of island life. But is just 800 meters away from the main hub of shops, restaurants and bars on the East coast.
The sunset side of the island is just 500 meters to the West. Where a wide variety of more relaxing places can be found to unwind and take in the glorious sunset.
With beautiful, traditional buildings combined with modern amenities. We aim to provide the best of both worlds.
Coconut Gardens is perfect place to hide away or as a base to explore the island and discover the wide range of activities available on Gili Trawangan.
Part of our philosophy is to be an eco-friendly resort and our choice of building materials reflects that. The teak timber work has been ethically re-claimed, imported and re-worked. The wood is generally between 40 and 60 years old and retains many of the traditional carvings and original markings from the material’s previous use.
Each of the bungalows in Coconut Gardens has been crafted in keeping with traditional Javanese architecture. The design of the bungalows is known as a ‘Gladak’, which typically means the structure is based on 4 interlocking beams from which the walls rise.
The roof reaches high up in the central part of the spacious double bedroom which creates an airy environment.
The fusion of elegant 21st Century simplicity for the interior design. Mixed with the traditional exterior makes for an interesting and chilled space to relax and slumber.
The Coconut Garden Bungalows have a full, curtained glass frontage. Outside is a private covered porch area with table and chairs.
The floors are cleaned and swept and the beds made every day.
The open air bathroom provides fresh hot and cold water, hand and bath towels, a large shower area, toilet and a towel rail.
There is hanging and shelf storage for clothing and 2 mains sockets on each side of the bed.

Surroundings & Facilities
The garden is an evolving and ongoing project. Lovingly tended by our resident horticulturalist. Our vision is to create a small Eden. Lush with tropical trees, aromatic flowers, native plants and guests being served freshly picked fruit from own garden.
The frame of the reception and restaurant building was rejuvenated from an abandonment in Java. The name of this design is ‘Joglo’, traditionally the dwelling of a village elder.
