For all visitors flying to Lombok to reach the Gili islands of Trawangan, Meno andGili Air, all scheduled airline operations flying to and from Lombok have ceased at Mataram's Selaparang International Airport (AMI) and have all been redirected to the new Lombok International Airport (WADL) in central southern Lombok near the city of Praya. As you all know, in 2005 I obtained the unnofficial world record for the longest open salt water scuba dive, lasting 24hrs 3mins. World Record Attempt For 100 Hrs Underwater
In Gili Trawangan, On the 20th July 2005 Will Goodman, PADI Instructor and TDI Technical Instructor, obtained the unnoficial record for the longest open saltwater scuba dive, at 24 hours and 3 minutes. However this was not officially recorded with Guinness World Records TM as required procedures were not completed. On April 14th 2008 he intends to make a new attempt and we have been working with Guinness World Records TM towards organising this event so that his new record will be recognised and noted. He will be attempting to remain under the water for a period of 100 hours. [ more ]

NEW.. Dive The Wrecks Of BALIKPAPAN Start 2 Feb 0
On January 24th 1942, the battle of Balikpapan took place off the south east coast of the Indonesian Island of Kalimantan. Simon Liddiard and the crew from the Ikan Biru have successfully located the following four wrecks and will be running specialist technical wreck penetration trips, both open and closed circuit, in November and December 2007. Kuretake Maru (5,175 tons),Tsuruga Maru (6,988 tons) , Tatsukami Maru (7,064 tons),Sumanoura Maru (3,519 tons). [ more ]
