Gili Trawangan turtle release - December 18th 2009 On Friday 18 December the Gili Eco Trust in conjunction with the Indonesian goverment released over 100 turtles into the wild on Trawangan beach. To celebrate the completion of the Turtle conservation building on Trawangan beach there was one of the biggest turtle releases ever seen on the islands.
The release was also a celebration for the new building that houses three new large water tanks under one roof, and a new egg incubation area that is penned off from the rest of the main tourist beach.
The amount of work put into this project has been amazing and has taken Pak Dino many years of dedicated work and effort to reach this very admirable stage.
