Indonesia fuel price hike
On June 25th 2013 the Indonesian government who heavily subsidizes fuel increased the price by 44%.
This means that generally goods are slightly more expensive although we have not seen much of a knock on effect yet.
This does not mean that prices in Indonesia are now 44% more expensive, more like 5 to 10% particularly on airlines and boats.
If you look at our fast boat page at the moment published prices are exactly the same, however we may not be able to give such big discounts as we did in low season.
So send us an email if you intend to travel to the Gilis by boat through www.gili-paradise.com and we will recommend the best option for you with a discount where possible.
Also hotel prices have not changed and do not seem likely to this year so it is still a good time to come.
Indonesia actually has one of the lowest fuel prices in the world and Indonesia as a whole including the Gili islands are still relatively a cheap must see destination.
