In Gili Trawangan on the 20th July 2005 Will Goodman, PADI Instructor and TDI Technical Instructor, obtained the unnoficial record for the longest open saltwater scuba dive, at 24 hours and 3 minutes. However this was not officially recorded with Guinness World Records TM as required procedures were not completed.

In April 2008 he intends to make a new attempt and we have been working with Guinness World Records TM towards organising this event so that his new record will be recognised and noted. He will be attempting to remain under the water for a period of 100 hours.

We (Island Promotions) will be actively promoting and supporting Will with his charity and record breaking efforts, please check www.gili-blog.com for updates and postings.
